The Brasserie Pietra team's idea

Our brewers set out to combine the aromatic power of a Stout with the smoothness and indulgence of cocoa. After carefully selecting several varieties of malt, they chose the Mayan Red Monovarietal Cacao Nibs from XOCO, renowned for their strong character and intensely aromatic profile. A final infusion of wood chips enhances the chocolate and coffee notes, adding an elegant touch to this refined tasting beer.

A dark beer can actually be quite low in alcohol — its color has nothing to do with its strength. The dark hue comes from the malts, which are roasted and toasted during the brewing process.
